Welcome to the home site of Bushwacker Western Wear, a company started in 2000 by Anette Edmiston. About the owner:
Anette originally started sewing garments for herself because she didn't like the quality versus the cost of the clothes from retail stores. She also didn't like going shopping and seeing racks of the same style skirts, blouses, pants etc. Being a bit of a clothes hound she found that she would wear items for a short period of time and be back shopping again. This became a very expensive proposition. She then started designing and making her own clothing.
In 1992 Anette and her husband became involved in the sport of fast draw and started traveling and competing in various contests in Canada and the United States. This meant that both Anette and her husband required western wear to compete in these contests. Anettes' husband being a more traditional type of shooter wanted clothing that more represent the 1880s' while Anette preferred the more modern western styles. These two contrasting styles had her branching out into a different area in her sewing. Her husband thought this was great as other shooters were not wearing the same shirts, vests and frock coat as he was. This was soon to change. Other shooters starting asking where he was getting his clothes and a business was born.
From this modest beginning Anette has branched out to sewing clothing for Fast Draw, Cowboy Action Shooting, Western Re-enactment groups and Western weddings. The most notable being Bob and Sherri Mernickle (Mernickle Custom Holsters) in which she made all the western style wedding dresses as well as outfitted all the men in Frock Coats, Gamblers Shirts and Vests as well as garters and tie to complete the outfits.
All Bushwacker Western Wear clothing is hand made with custom orders being the norm instead of the exception. Shirt sleeves are measured to be the right length and shirts stay tucked in; vest measurements are taken to include chest, stomach and length of body to ensure proper and comfortable fit. Plainly you will be receiving a garment that fits.
Many people have stated: "You can't find this clothing in stores!"
